As explained in the rules, it is possible to to play a character that already has an account, provided they have been inactive without notice, have chosen to leave the boards, or have decided to stop playing a specific character.
Here is a list of known inactive characters that are free to play:
If a character you want to play is on this list, you do not have to ask for permission to play that character. But, once again, we do ask that you take the previous player's responsibilities as that character (medical assistant, teacher, et cetera), as it will make the boards more fluid and consistant (it's just hard to explain why a teacher is suddenly a student)(but, you're still completely welcome to re-introduce that character on their new account and re-post a new profile sheet for them).
If you no longer wish to play a character, you can notify us in this thread here to be added to the list (please post with that character's account to save confusion).
